App Permissions
Below is an explanation of each permission and why it's necessary for the Wisq Slack app to function properly:
- View messages and other content in public and private channels that Harper has been added to This allows Harper to read and process conversations in channels where the app is installed, enabling her to provide intelligent responses and take actions based on your team's discussions.
- View basic information about public channels in your workspace This includes channel names, descriptions, topics, and member lists. Harper needs this to understand your workspace structure and determine where she can be most helpful.
- View basic information about private channels that Harper has been added to Similar to public channels, this allows Harper to understand the context of private channels where she’s added, but only for those specific channels—not all private channels in your workspace.
- View messages and other content in direct messages that Harper has been added to This enables Harper to participate in one-on-one conversations with team members when invited, allowing for personalized interactions and support.
- View basic information about group direct messages that Harper has been added to This allows Harper to understand the context of group conversations where she’s been invited, including who the participants are.
- View profile details about people in your workspace This includes information like display names, job titles, time zones, and profile photos. Harper uses this to personalize interactions and identify team members correctly.
- View people in your workspace This allows Harper to see the list of workspace members, which helps her understand your team structure and enables features like mentioning users or directing messages to the right people.
- View email addresses of people in your workspace Email addresses help Harper identify users uniquely and may be used for features like notifications, user matching, or integration with other systems.
- Join public channels in your workspace This allows Harper to automatically add herself to public channels when needed, rather than requiring manual invitation every time. This makes it easier for your team to start using Harper in new channels.
- Manage public channels that Harper has been added to and create new ones This includes the ability to update channel topics, descriptions, and settings for channels where Harper is present. Harper may also create new channels when necessary for organizing team conversations or workflows.
- Send messages as @harper This is the core functionality that allows Harper to communicate with your team, send notifications, provide updates, and respond to requests in channels and conversations where it's been added.
- Send messages as @harper with a customized username and avatar This allows Harper to adjust how she appears in different contexts—for example, using different names or profile pictures to distinguish between different types of notifications or to make messages more visually distinct.
- Start direct messages with people This enables Harper to initiate one-on-one or group conversations with team members when she needs to send private notifications, follow up on tasks, or provide personalized assistance.
